Known for his incisive journalistic style and for investigations that often provoked strong reactions in the public space, Liviu Alexa proves once again that beyond the media area there is a genuine artist, with a creative force rarely seen in the contemporary artistic landscape.
The painter-journalist Liviu Alexa is preparing an exhibition with a shocking theme. It found its source in the music of a singer from Ireland.
After the success recorded with the exhibitions in Cluj and Bucharest, Alexa announced the launch of the series "The daffodil lament" (Lamentation of the Narcissus), a new artistic project consisting of 21 canvases inspired by the life and sufferings of Dolores O'Riordan, the lead singer of the Irish band The Cranberries. The journalist once again proves an impressive creative force.

The exhibitions of Liviu Alexa has recently enjoyed real success, and his works have attracted attention for their emotional intensity and deeply personal style. Few painters can boast of such creative effervescence and the willingness to transform pain, trauma and vulnerability into high-impact artistic exercises quickly ahead.
The artist explained that the new series is conceived as a far-reaching project, which could end up outside of Romania.
"Today I am starting a series of 21 canvases that I hope will attract the attention of an international gallery for a personal exhibition outside the borders of Romania", Liviu Alexa told us.
"The series is called "The daffodil lament" (Lamentation of the Narcissus) and is dedicated to a special singer, the lead singer of The Cranberries", he explained this one.
Liviu Alexa speaks with emotion about the impact that Dolores O'Riordan had on his adolescence and on millions of fans around the world.
"Dolores marked my adolescence in the years '90, in fact, marked the souls of millions of people, through his strange songs, bitter-sweet or angry, depressive or naive", says the painter journalist.
He believes that the general public knows too little about her beyond the famous song "Zombie".
"Many know about her only from the famous "Zombie", but Dolores was infinitely more much. It was a multiverse of the soul", Liviu Alexa appreciates.
The 21 canvases represent, in the vision of Liviu Alexa, a visual exploration of mental illnesses and emotional traumas.
"The 21 canvases, an allusion to the song "Twenty One", propose an artistic visual projection on the fragility of the human mind, if you want conceptual personifications of mental illnesses", says the artist.
Furthermore, Liviu Alexa promises that the works will try to give shape and form to sufferings that are difficult to explain in words.
